For more than forty years, Finkley Down Farm has been welcoming Primary and Junior Schools, Nurseries and Pre-schools with our children’s educational experiences. Many return to the farm year after year as our indoor and outdoor educational adventure play areas offer so much to see and do all year-round, with plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning like touching and feeding the animals.
Our team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable Farmers want to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. We’re here to help you from your initial booking inquiry to getting the children back onto the coach at the end of the day. We are proud of our farm and always aim to ensure everyone, including children, teachers and helpers, will thoroughly enjoy their visit.
Finkley is near to Andover and close to the A303, M3 and M4 so we’re easily reachable from across Hampshire and the surrounding counties of Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex and Middlesex. We provide free car and coach parking, and for your coach driver free entry to Finkley with a discount coupon for our café. If you’d like to find out more, we’d love to hear from you!
Meet The Animals Guided Tour
Term-time Only
Arrive: 10:00AM
Time to use toilets and store lunch boxes in your class area.
Tour: 10:30AM
One of our Farmers will meet you for your tour, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your request.
Lunch: 12:00PM
Lunch can be taken as a picnic outside or eaten inside during inclement weather.
After Lunch
Take time to explore the rest of the farm. There are lots of indoor and outdoor play areas to enjoy.
Primary & Junior Schools
Fun & memorable educational experiences!
For Reception, Primary and Junior schools, Finkley Down Farm offers a special guided Meet The Animals Tour of the farm led by one of our friendly Farmers. Teachers are always welcome to come along to Finkley for a free pre-visit and to plan the perfect day.
Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable Farmers are here to tailor the tour around any educational topics and National Curriculum learning objectives that you require. There are many different learning opportunities, from farm animals to birds of prey and local wildlife to exotic reptiles.
Alternatively, you may wish to conduct your own tour at your own pace and enjoy our touch, learn and interact sessions that are open to everyone. Check-out our ‘Today On The Farm’ blackboards and join us for a fun range of seasonal, hands-on activities with our adorable animals.
Nurseries & Preschools
Hands-on learning and farm-themed fun!
Nurseries and Pre-schools can make the most of our pre-booking discount rates for groups of fifteen or more and join in any of our Finkley Down Farm daily programmes of animal activities. Tour the farm at your own pace and enjoy our touch, learn and interact sessions that are open to everyone.
